Martin Halle and his group have a special research interest in randomized controlled trials in primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease. Their special interest is in Exercise training in diastolic and systolic heart failure and large national and international randomized trials have been or are currently ongoing in Munich at Technical University and the university hospital. Overall more than 500 patients are currently involved in clinical trials. In addition, the group has established a large cohort of the Life-style intervention in obese children and is conducting lifestyle intervention in different settings such as rehabilitation clinic, schools. Exercise intervention trials are also conducted in breast and colon cancer patients. Aside from research trials, Martin Halle is head of a large outpatient preventative clinic with a focus on internal medicine, sports cardiology and exercise physiology with 10,000 visits per year.
